I don't plan to include PK's in my lib distribution, because
different people need different fonts. So we don't need to discuss
this issue.
As for environment variables, you don't *have* to have *any*
environment variables set. Really. I know, because I don't :-)
This is modulo bugs, of course -- but if your files are in
the places specified by the default paths, you don't neeed
environment variables.
Boy, I can hardly wait until I've finished the runtime config file
stuff and we get to add another layer of confusion!
